So I am excited to announce that I will be adding some new lovely things to the shop!!! Its been awhile since I have adding anything new to my Etsy but I have been making a bunch of new things for the past 6 months. ( Shame on me ... I know) I have started making more things that reflect my personal style. I have also made a few custom bridal pieces for some girls on Etsy... SO fun!!! I love working with birdcage veiling. I think Not Quite Vintage might have a bridal section for spring... but we shall see.

The newest thing in my shop is the Leopard Cocktail Hat

So I finally made some! The pink is so yummy... Like bubblegum ! FUN FUN! I also got some other wonderful colors I will be listing soon. (The turquoise is to die for! )

Not Quite Vintage

So there has been a little change in my shop... My shop name was " Knit with Love" since that is my blog name... but if you have noticed I don't have one thing of knitting in my shop OR blog... bad me... But I made this blog along time ago when I was a knittin' fool... SO with that being said I wanted to change my Etsy name before I started applying for some shows.... You know so I can be "professional" with a name that actually reflected my items for purchase! I went to Lazy Daisy Marie actually through twitter and she helped me out MAJOR! I was shocked with how wonderful my banner turned out! I love love love love love it!!! Check out her Shop and message her if you need a revamp! She is super sweet and delivers! SO check out my new banner!!! Tell me what you think! Isn't it so me?

I got so inspired by her wonderful banner I started taking pictures of all the things I had made but not yet listed. This one is by far my favorite:

My apricot dupioni silk headband... :::swoon::: I love it...

Apricot silk fancy rosette

I took pictures of it on my vintage train case...

IIIMMMM BBBAACCCKKK!!!

Honey, I'm HOME!!!
So for all of you that don't know I was in Washington D.C. area for 1 week.... It was AMAZING... I love it and wanted to move there, until I woke up this morning and it was 70 degrees without a cloud in the sky... California really is good to me! Besides that I love D.C. I think I could have stayed another week and still not seen all the beautiful things! I did a few memorable things that I will never forget in my life!!! (I will give them there own "post") I had such a wonderful time. I went to meet up with Juan and see his family. My Aunt recently moved there too so I got to spend a few days over there! Juan's abuelos (grandparents) were in from Ecuador. Its funny how the language barrier didn't seem to affect some ones personality. Juan's grandpa is hilarious... I have NO CLUE what he's saying but he's the cutest little man ever!

DSC01762

He still spoke to me in Spanish as if a miracle happened and I understood Spanish five minutes after I just gave him a blank look and a big cheesy grin... I would just smile and look at Juan for assistance..." CAN I GET A TRANSLATION PLEASE OR A FUCKING ROSETTA STONE!!!" I need Rosetta stone... badly... I would like to say its because I want to make myself more worldly and smart but reality is... Juans family only gossips in Spanish... and they watch a super SUPER good novella called " Las Tontas No Van Al Cielo" :) hahahaha

I wish we had the Metro in Laguna Beach. Its so easy and practical! I loved it!! We zoomed all around the city. I made this girl take a picture of Juan and I... Juan was so embarrassed I asked her, but who cares... It turned out to be my favorite picture of us so far.

DSC03610

Here I am across the street from the spy museum... SO LAME... Everyone told us how cool it was... Um... It sucked... My favorite part was the metal capsules they shoved up their ass full of tools and poison. All for the good ol' US of A
DSC03611

OH yeah.... In case you were wondering.... It was cold as SHIT... And since God apparently hates me he chose to make the two coldest days be the 2 days I was walking around DC.... Thank you Jesus. Also I want to thank Juan for telling me its not very cold... Well it was 10 degrees with massive wind storms (note hair below)

Also if you look at my Flickr you will notice most of the pictures taken of me, the monuments are cut out of them... Juan is a great photographer and thinks I strategically stand in front of monuments / sites of interest just so he can get my close up... NO BITCH... Get the Background too!!!

DSC03613

At least Juan was miserable with me... hehehe.... (NOTE: Hes freezing his little huevos off but...FULL MONUMENT IN PICTURE)

DSC03616

Here we are cheesing it up!! (I just wanted to try the Polodroid app)

This week will probably be a week full of DC pics and adventures... I also have a few new things I will be adding to my Etsy Which should be up.... eeehh next week... I can't wait to show you guys!!

My next post will be "The adventures in the hooded red scarf".... if you read back that far in my blog you would know that I had been dying to make myself a hooded red scarf... well I started it... but let the G-MA finish it for me... until then...
If you have been to DC what was your favorite thing?

Some things I've been working on...

Soooo.... I've been super bad at posting... Which I figured would happen during the holiday season... BUT I haven't stopped crafting!! I've actually been doing some straight up sweat shop work... I've been making a million headbands! They were a huge hit on My Etsy There are still some available and I will be listing the most beautiful deep purple ones tomorrow. I sold out of them within the first hour at the craft show I was in on Saturday. I could kick myself for not making more purple and red ones... Oh well... At least I know for next time.

Smile rosette

I also have been making some fun little other things... I am slowly but surely getting my craft "TO DO LIST" checked off one at a time... I finally made some clothespin dolls. Don't hate on the one with super big eyes!!! Shes my first one, I used a paint pen and made one eye too big... then I was like... FUCK IT... This bitch is going to have the "stink eye"...

clothes pin gals

Isn't the tree so cute? That was another one of my "projects" I found it at Michaels on clearance for $4.00 but it was just a regular bushy tree.... Well I gave that thing a brazilian wax! I made it bare and lovely!! I love the vintage feel it gives!

The clothespin gang

I have also been thrift store shopping... I have been keeping my eye out for some cute little tea cups to make pin cushions out of and here are two I "experimented" with.

Green tea cup

cheetah pin cushion

Also I made another one of my "Embroidery art" pieces. This time I made her with green eyes, a green bow, red hair, and silver stud earrings. I think I like her better with a more traditional earring.

Woman Circa 1951

She is available here.

Other then that I have been decorating for Christmas. My boyfriend went home to Maryland for Thanksgiving, so I decorated his apartment while he was gone. The tree is so not at its prime A) because I don't have any of my handmade ornaments on there because I was going to be selling them at a craft show and B) My mom gave me all these "handmade" ornaments some crazy "aunt" of hers dropped off at our house last year... If you blow the picture up you will see there is an ornament of a "snowman" and his hat is made out of the top of a tube sock... (OH HOW CLEVER). I should be caned in the crafting world for allowing such ugly ornaments on that tree... but you know what... I love them because they are SO TACKY!!! Also see the snowman chillin' at the bottom of the tree... Ugly Ornaments need love too sort of like the Island of Misfit Toys!!! I also used dingle berry garland. I think that was a wonderful idea on my part. Partially because I bought a HUGE spool of the shit for $6.00 (thats a wonderful deal I think there is 50 yards) at a thrift store and my mom told me I would never use it... Well here you go Momma O... 2 yards down... 48 yards to go!

My Christmas tree so far

So yeah to say the least I have been keepin' busy!!! Its really rewarding to know that people actually like my stuff!!! Keep your eyes open for my headbands in some new colors..... (lets hope I take photos of them tomorrow!)

EDIT: Just listed new headbands!!

Etsy and My Birthday Presents!!!

Today I spent my day taking pictures of all my stuff I plan on adding to etsy. I have about 20 onesies that I have yet to list and a bunch of other things I have been making.... Taking photos I feel is the worst part of the process... For some reason today I got super inspired and I even busted out a few props! Last night I bought a regular 18inch aluminum tree and gave it a hair cut!! Made it bare and vintagey looking! I love it.... So I decided it needed some camera time!

So I've been making headbands like a mad woman!! The more I make the more I love them! At first I was going to selfishly keep them for myself...( because I am a bitch like that) But I really got carried away and made more then I can deal with... So I was ever so gracious and listed them on My Etsy!!!

Red Felt Rosette Headband

White Felt Rosette Headband

Mint Green Rose Headband

Red Felt Rose Headband
(this ones my fav)

I want to have a special thanks to " DOLLY PARTON" My dollhead for modeling the headbands for me.... If you went or are in beauty school.... You will be all too familiar with these things....

Other then that... I have received so many wonderful birthday gifts and it isn't even my birthday till MONDAY!!! My cousin gave me some Ed Hardy flip flops. He is in 4th grade and he picked them out himself. He said " I know you love asain stuff so I knew you would love these!!" Seriously I love that kid! My last christmas he picked out this gold necklace with a flower pendant and he said " I picked it out because I know you love "old stuff"" (hahaha I gotta teach that kid & Juan the word VINTAGE)

I also got my Japanese craft book I've been SEARCHING FOR in the mail today and a Q-Snap!!! (Thanks ShhhWAN)

The cream of the crop present is my new BROTHER!!! NO NOT THAT SORT OF BROTHER!!! A Brother Sewing Machine!!! ugh... I don't know what I did without that thing!! It purrs like a kitty cat!!! It has an automatic threader, drop in bobbin ( heaven sent I hate doing the bobbin) and NEEDLEDOWN!! freaking awesome! Also a bunch of decorative stitches.... So no more sewing with the lawn mower.... I mean my old sewing machine.... Seriously I deserve a damn reward for sewing with that thing...

SO yeah... I am still waiting on my scalloped scissors... and other then that the rest is a surprise!

New things....

So I am really boring today.... But I need to post... Since last night I was drunk twittering... It was funny! I haven't been drunk in a long time... I got a text from Amy (P.S. Amy its been 6 days since you posted... I think your "blogger award" should be stripped from you!) and all she wrote to me was " Hung Over?" How the hell did she know? Well apparently... instead of calling people I was drunk twittering... :) Then I look at my AIM on my phone and at 2:42 AM I message my little cousin " KID I LOVE YOU!!! Why doesn't your phone work... go find it" HAHAHHAAHAH wow... So yeah... Good times!

So other then that I am making my birthday list because my birthday is DECEMBER 1ST!!!! I am going to be 23!!! I HAVE TO HAVE THESE.... How freaking cute? Measuring cups!

Other then that I am totally loving this song... Pretty honky bluegrass! Lovin it!

Also I love this French american Singer Madeleine Peyroux!!! I couldn't find her music video so here is the song with someones pictures added... I found her while I was on Pandora listening to " Ella Fitzgerald" radio. So beautiful...

I love this song even though I have NO CLUE what she is saying....

So anyways.... I have been working on my custom orders on My Etsy I have so many ideas for christmas but I know I wont finish 5% of them.... I thought I started so early.... guess not early enough!

hhhmmm.... Other then that.... Today was so AMAZING... It was the most beautiful day EVER it was 80 degrees! Juan and I walked down to the beach and then ate at Wahoos.... mmmmm.... Where the heck is Winter? Its not in Southern California that is for sure! SO yeah... Juan is leaving for Maryland next week to visit his familia ! I am going to decorate his apartment all Christmassy so when he gets home it will be a winter wonderland!!! I know.... I am such a wonderful girlfriend.... you don't have to tell me... :)

Juan just called me over and asked me to write his 4 page paper... There is a reason I went to beauty school... I missed my calling... I can write MEAN papers... I should charge!!! A friend I had in high school used to give me sssoo much shit for not being able to spell... Like literally made me feel like an idiot... but when it came to papers.... I rocked the house... I always got A's and she always got C's.... SO HA!!! computers can spell... it takes a brain to write a good paper! (especially if you never read the book!!!) but yeah... I am not writing the paper for Juan... I am a good girlfriend but not that good...
