Vintage Manicure
SOOOOOO I've been lurking on The Fedora Lounge and came across this vintage manicure thread.... its for sure a personal preference and my poor nail gal wanted to kill me! She kept on saying... " Let me see that picture again!" Then I told her i want them "ALMOND SHAPED" and shes like " OH noooooo thats too old fashion...." lady.. fucking look at me... does it look like im going for the mainstream trendy look??? UM NO! My hair is curled into an " old fashion hair-do" my make up is vintage inspired and my clothes look like I was sent in a time machine... round these puppies OUT! Dita Von Dess has perfect manicure... She is just so lovely in general..
I like them... I mean up close you are like... these are sort of weird... but while my fingers are at work they look delicate and nice! Next time I will get them not so WHITE on the moons... maybe a more natural look... This was my ladies first time so I had to give it to her... She did a pretty good job.
and since my dog thinks that the world revolves around him he had to get in on the photoshoot!!! But since hes so cute I used him as a prop!
What a sweet pup!!! So what do you think of my daggers? So far my mom and my friend hate them.... but the girls at work love them... so they say... They say.... SO YOU... hahahahah

I like the shape and length on yours more than the shape and length on Dita's. The white & red is interesting (and I don't mean "interesting" as in "yuck" -- I mean, really interesting!). The red really makes your ring pop!!
Cute pup ^-^
I think they look fabulous! I've been waiting to try this on myself...
(I removed the above comment b/c of a typo!)
I love them. I just do it myself. Not particularly neatly but still myself.

i think they look terrific and for your manicurist's first time it's great. When I wasn't doing my nails myself they always looked at me strangely when i requested this and more often than not they didn't know what I was talking about - but every single time the other women in the salon loved it. so there must be some appeal :)
"...." lady.. fucking look at me... does it look like im going for the mainstream trendy " LMAO!!!!
Love the nails! They really are VERY you!
i love it! adorable! i might have to give it a try...i have seen it in vintage magazines...rock it girl! cat
Gorgeous! I love the vintage manicure. I only leave my moons pale, too. When I don't paint the tips it looks messy on me, but other people can carry it off! I love your story about the nail salon, that's gold!
i totally used to paint my nails like that (before i realized i get way too dirty with ink to maintain it) but i figured out i could use the french nail guides - only put them lower on the nail bed and paint red above it. turns out perfect!
your looks great!
Just found your sweet blog and I LOVE it...I am running over to your etsy shop right now.. your headbands look aborable..I will be back for sure.
I also play Roller Derby! What league do you skate with?
Sailor collars are pretty simple too. This is a step by set tutorial http://www.godsavethequeenfashions.com/Making_a_Sailor_Collar.html . I hope you post photos once you're done.
Love them!
HAHAHA i think they are lovely kid... the girls at work are full of it anyway so don't u worry.... i think these nails fit your pretty vintage style and they look good.
oh and by the way i miss gussy poo!
Oh man I love your nails. I have tried to show several manicurists pictures and get them to do it but no one wanted to so I just do them myself. My friend said in Ecuador it's all the rage and most shops do it just like yours. I love how things like that come back around.
Oh my gosh finally something interesting and new in the world of nails. It seems like it's been a long time since I've seen anything I wanted to try manicure-wise but this would be great! Thanks for the inspiration. I LOVE your blog (and your hair). Could you post a how-to about your haircolor- I know it's complicated but I would still like some tips in case I try it myself?
